One thing accomplished.

I swear it's so different for the 2nd baby.  I have done absolutely nothing to prepare for him yet... no clothes or essentials have been bought (mostly because we're trying to wait until we get to Atlanta in May so we don't have to move any extra stuff), but we finally purchased bedding!

Harper bedding from PBK

I'm loving gray mixed with any color these days so I knew I either wanted gray walls or gray bedding.  Like I said before, I'm not into the typical baby boy stuff with trains, dinosaurs, etc on them so I was happy to find something very simple.  Now I can pretty much decorate the room any way I want :)

We are actually going to be living with my inlaws from mid-May until about September because Hubbs doesn't start work at the firm officially until October.  He will be working as an asst football coach at his old high school until then to get us by.

1) We know it will be hard trying to get a place to rent for only 4 months.

2) I AM SICK OF PACKING AND MOVING.  End of story.

When Hubbs' parents offered for us to just use their basement (complete with kitchen, 2bed/2bath, and living space) for the few months we'd be waiting we didn't want to turn it down.  We will just keep all of our furniture & other things (besides clothing obviously) in storage so we don't have to unpack AGAIN, and then pack up in 4 months AGAIN.

So I really won't have a nursery to decorate for Vincent until we move into our own house around September.  We are using all of Gianna's nursery furniture for him so we really don't have much else to buy for his room until then.   He will have to do without cute wall paint or much decor for the first few months of his life :)

  2. I love gray too so simple and calming! We are actually planning on moving to ATL by next summer...hopefully. and I also DESPISE moving! Especially with little ones in tow.

Dont feel bad though .....I barely bought anything with my son till the end of my pregnancy..and my son had to share a pink room for awhile ....even now they share a room and we are going to try to make it more gender neutral soon. Hopefully when we move we will have the space for each to have a room :)

  3. I totally understand the not doing anything for the 2nd baby. I just had my second child. We are living in an apartment right now while we build our house. I wasn't able to make a cute nursery, so I ordered really cute (not cheap) bedding. I figured I wouldn't be spending money on decorations and paint, so I will spend it on bedding! It came in 2 weeks before my son was born because I waited until the last minute to order it.

  6. I bought that bedding for my son last year in brown and we accessorized his room with sport items that were cooler then the ones in the baby collections. My only complaint is that the Pottery Barn blanket is really not that soft. I was pretty disappointed in how rough it is actually and my son never uses it, but I didn't try to return it since it was personalized. Instead he has a Clifford and a Yo Gabba Gabba blanket ($15 each) that he loves.

  9. Great choice! That is nice that your inlaws are letting you guys stay. Sounds like you'll have plenty of space too! Hopefully we can have some more play dates when you're back :)

  10. I love gray, too! I knew right when I got preggo that the room would have gray, once I knew it was a boy I went with aqua. I am not one for baby boy stuff either, that is why I fell in love with Michael Miller's modern zoology fabric. I guess it's still animals but not typical boy. At least you will have some extra help when he arrives. You will need it with Gianna, she might be a tad jealous in the beginning. Payton got over it after about two weeks. So excited to see what you do with his temporary "room".

  13. I think the gray is perfect! And when you have more kids, you can still use gray even with different wall colors =]
