Back to reality.

After having 7 extra people in our house, consuming 6,000 calories in 1 day & drinking sweet tea in disguise with my Hubbs, sisters-in-law+boyfriends (who knew sweet tea came in alcoholic form?!)... we are now back to reality.

Thanksgiving recap:  Lindsay & I insisted on cooking Thanksgiving ourselves, but my MIL & her MIL came with other ideas.  Actually my MIL showed up with the potatoes already mashed & the broccoli casserole already assembled.  And her MIL decided to wake up before us & "help out with the turkey."  AKA do it herself so that us amateurs wouldn't ruin it :)  It actually worked out ok for Lindsay though because the food smells were making her sick... they just found out she is expecting their first baby!

So all in all we did help out, but our MILs couldn't help themselves HAHA!  Kinda had a feeling that would happen.  Oh well... there will be plenty of Thanksgivings in our future & I'm positive I will be given the task of throwing my first Thanksgiving someday.  BUT... I did bake the most amazing cinnamon ripple sweet potato cake... EVER.  And made quite a tasty cranberry & pecan salad with homemade citrus/honey/thyme dressing... nom nom.

This is what our living room looked like while our guests were here... complete with ghetto blow up mattress & couch throw pillows:

We only have 1 extra bedroom so it was 1st come 1st serve.  MIL & FIL decided to get a hotel for the night & let their daughters/boyfriends stay with us so they wouldn't be intruding too much... I think it was so they could get a nice queen size bed to themselves, but who could blame them ;)

We spent most of the day at Travis & Lindsay's house.  Gianna had a blast outside with Grandpa!

Gianna went those 2 days that we had company only taking one 30-45 minute nap per day.  And surprisingly she wasn't a grouch.  Who wants to sleep when you have aunts & grandparents to play with?

I know some of you know that I like an excuse to get Gigi a cute outfit.  So she must have had a cute outfit for Thanksgiving... right?  Well... I wasn't exactly predicting a 70 degree Thanksgiving.  So that adorable long sleeve top, eggplant colored corduroy skirt & cable knit tights just weren't going to cut it this year.  You read that correctly... 70 degrees.  On Thanksgiving.  So a t-shirt & jeans it was.

Giving Mama her model pose...

Gianna & "Aunt" Lindsay.  Her husband is actually Gigi's 2nd cousin, but we both liked "aunt" :)

Family photo

Gigi being silly!

And my fave... Gigi & Hubbs with no shoes.  For a family photo.  Lovely haha!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  6. I LOVE the second to the last shot, Gianna is too adorable! Quick question, do you shoot in full auto? Your pictures are looking great and I'm wondering if this can be achieved in full auto. Thanks for sharing your thanksgiving! Mine, on the other hand, consisted of laying in bed, sick, for two days :(
